The close of 4/4/2025 and the April Week 1 Market Summary

As the 1st week of April closed Friday we saw the profit taking from the long downturn begin then give way to a serious crack downward as the puts are not overwith.

This downturn we are in has been coming since back late last year and has been in strong effect since February. Just like gravity pulling a basketball down after it swishes through the hoop you never have a straight drop the stop.

A ball bounces until the momentum stops and a floor is found.

The market is finding a floor right now then a bounce up and sideways consolidation is highly probable.

Going back to the Monthly and Quarterly of the $SP500 a stronger down swing after a bounce up is probable as we go into late April (tax time) this could when the market continues down.

My money for this is looking to earn on some upward movement with earnings releases. Then wait for a mid month decline into the summer, espically if the current tariff war continues strong through May.

Once April/May earnings ends then we have no catalyst to keep the market up against strong negative economic winds pushing in the other direction.

For me it all comes down to a combo of what the charts are setup and telling me could happen and the strength of the bull/bear catalyst at hand. That is why in order to do the market well you have to think in terms of shades of grey.

I know what I want to trade this, but I have to wait until later tomorrow to really put a trading plan together. All I know right now is I am not entering anything at the open of 4/7/2025.
